The cost of translation varies depending on: subject matter, quantity, required delivery date.

How long does it take?
The following can be used as a guideline:
Japanese to English
4,000-4,500 Japanese characters - one week
(10 English pages per our billing page count).
English to Japanese
1,700 – 2,000 English words - one week
(10 Japanese pages per our billing page count)
Our billing page is counted in the target language and is defined as follows:
Japanese to English
22 lines of 55 characters each
English to Japanese
A4 page (equivalent to a 400-character manuscript pad)
Express service:
When a document must be translated in a hurry, please let us know. We will do all we can to deliver it when you need it. On really tight deadlines, request our Express service (incurs additional costs).
How do I order?
Once you have received and agreed to our quotation we will ask you to send a confirmation in writing(e-mail or FAX is acceptable). Upon receipt of this confirmation we will commence the work bearing in mind the required delivery time.
Delivery
The translated document will be delivered via e-mail in encrypted files unless you request post service.
What are the backgrounds of the translators and editors?
Our translators and editors are well qualified and have relevant experience in the fields of the documents they translate. We cannot disclose their names or personal history due to our privacy policy, but, upon request we can give you a summary of their education and job experience.
Note: All staff regularly take in-house seminars and on-the-job training to keep their knowledge and skills up to date.
What languages can be translated?
We specialize in our core language pairs of Japanese, Chinese, Korean and English.
If you require additional languages please inquire.
What software can be handled?
Microsoft, Adobe (including Macromedia), Quark, AutoDesk, Trados, and Memo Q.
We also handle non-Japanese versions of :
Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
(i.e. English and Chinese versions of Microsoft Office).
Can you deliver the data in a print-ready format?
Yes!
If you want us to prepare page layouts ready to print, we can make it to the specifications required for printing.
Other services available:
*print on film,
*process bookbinding,
*data CDs,
*preparation of data CD contents.
These services can be ordered individually or combined.
Can you explain about your confidentiality policy?
We will take the utmost care in handling the documents we receive from you, whether they are hardcopy or electronic data.
Our in-house staff members and translators understand our confidentiality obligation, and have signed non-disclosure agreements in order to work for Y.T.B.
We are also willing to sign any confidentiality agreements with your company upon your request.
Can an original layout be recreated?
Yes!
For an additional charge, we can recreate the layout of the original document.
The price differs depending on whether you can provide us with the original data or not.
Can you handle specialized areas or fields?
Yes!
Our translators and editors are experts in document translation. Your document will be assigned to a translator with relevant expertise in the field you require.
Can I ask for the same translator again?
Yes!
This of course depends on workload and any other projects currently being handled.
There may be times when the translator is assigned to some other project and cannot work immediately on your translation.
In this case we will ask you for more time.
If this does not suit your deadline we will assign a translator with expertise in the same field.
Note: If you know when a project is coming up, please let us know in advance so that we can arrange to have your translator ready for your project.
If the document has been revised, is there any chance that the part already translated is charged for again?
We rely on you to inform us of which parts of the document need translation and which do not, we will then translate the revised parts only.
If you want us to find the revised parts, we may need to charge you for the additional work.
In any case, whether we must charge and how much we charge depends on the extent of the revision.
Do you verify and check translated documents internally?
Yes!
Our in-house staff members check and read translated documents on screen and on hardcopy.

If I revise the translated document, can you translate the parts revised?
In the case of minor changes, revisions are free of charge.
If revisions are more extensive we will need to make a charge which we will agree with you prior to commencement.
Please let us know in advance if revisions are expected. We can quote our price, including the expected revisions, which is less than handling revisions afterwards.
